A Painful Awakening!

Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain syndrome in the tendons, ligaments and other fibrous connective tissues in the body.   This condition  is not due to tissue damage or inflammation.  It is fundamentally different from rheumatic disorders and many other pain conditions.  A few theories include a growth hormone deficiency in the brain, the serotonin chemical level in the brain,  and traumatic experiences such as car accidents, mental/physical excessive stress. Research has also determined that Fibromyalgia is a central nervous system condition.

Fibromyalgia Pain is a complex pain that is hard to understand by doctors. You would have to have Fibro in order to actually understand the intense pain of this syndrome. Fibromyalgia has many suprising faces. It is unlike normal pain.  It is a pain that you cannot ignore, no matter how hard you try.  You cannot just take an aspirin or a Tylenol and expect for your pain to go away.  Fibromyalgia pain never goes away, it is either worse or not as bad as the day before, but its always with you.

We must keep in mind that we can feel better, no matter how little it may be. I have learned not to embrace Fibro as a Final Destination in my body.

Instead, embrace Wellness, Strength and Faith, because miracles still happen. One day we could wake up and feel NO FIBRO pain! What a glorious day this would be!
