About US

The Painful Reality of Fibromyalgia is a personal book inspired by the relentless suffering of Fibromyalgia Pain. Doctors now realize that Fibromyalgia is REAL.  It is invisible, making it difficult to treat, but it is definitely real.  Just because we look well on the outside, we are screaming in pain on the inside. There is no objective test for Fibromyalgia.  Some doctors may conclude a patient’s pain is not real, or they may tell the patient there is little they can do.  Millions of Americans suffer daily from this relentless, pain 24/7.

People with Fibromyalgia typically see many doctors before receiving a diagnosis. One reason for this is because the intense pain is so complex, and mimic other chronic pain conditions such as MS and LUPUS.  Therefore, doctors have to rule out other potential causes before making a diagnosis of Fibromyalgia.

Living with Fibromyalgia, is extremely challenging!  You come to realize that you must be strong, because it is a condition that fights with you body all day and night.  I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 1996.  It has been a long, hard struggle, but I have learned to stay hopeful and prayerful.  It has taught me patience and I have more compassion and empathy for others who are suffering.  Fibromyalgia can take the quality of your life away.  I pray for strength daily so that I can endure this trial.  Having 24/7 pain is a lot to contend with, as there are more horrific days than bad days.  However, my spirits are high, and my faith is strong, in spite of the fact that I still have Fibromyalgia.
